SAVING LIVES, 1 HEARTBEAT AT A TIME
CAMERON'S STORY
On Sunday, May 17, 2015 Cameron left home to play basketball with his friends at the local rec center. When he left home that day, he told his mom he would be back in an hour or so.
Cameron never returned home.
After playing a game of basketball, he suffered sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) on the basketball court. Attempts to save Cameron through CPR and AED were unsuccessful. Cameron was healthy, athletic and very fit. His parents were not aware that Cameron had any type of heart condition.
Cameron was a humble and kind person who would do anything he could to help someone. The Cameron Juniel Project is in honor of Cameron’s life. His parents want to help other families by bringing awareness to SCA. Prayerfully through awareness and prevention, families of young athletes will never have to experience the heartache and pain of losing a child to SCA. .
